Company Overview:
Iron Rock Brewing Co. (IRBC) is the first brewery to open and operate in the Big Land! We're committed to producing high-quality products and experiences that represent this beautiful place with pride. And having fun while doing it.
Iron Rock has experienced tremendous growth since opening in October 2019. Through the pandemic, the company built resilience by enhancing production & packaging capabilities. Part of this growth was the brewery’s transition to 473mL aluminum cans in April 2020, which can now be found on shelves across the province with hopes to export interprovincially in 2024.
Most recently, 2022 brought the return of major events to the region. The company is eager and well positioned to assist our collaborators with the execution and patron experience at these celebrations of Lab West culture and community.
Position Summary:
The team behind IRBC is small and tight-knit. While duties and responsibilities are divided among ownership, five full-time staff, and part-time staff, we are a nimble and formidable force when we work together.
As a small business operating in Lab West, our intent around building and developing our team is to hire for “fit” and core competency while we train and mentor in specific functions.
Based on this approach, we are hiring a team member to assist and eventually lead in brewery packaging, sales, logistics coordination, inventory management, and/or other related duties. The individual will work in collaboration with the team to build on their passion for fine craft beer and help IRBC deliver the experience our customers have grown to expect. This is a full-time, hourly position.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate people and materials during canning operations utilizing the Cask Semi-Automated Canning System (SAMS), AP 362 Label applicator, and other equipment;
- Coordinating sales in the Labrador region (Lab West, Eastern and Coastal Labrador);
- Work with the Business Manager to ensure business admin functions are completed in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance;
- Support logistics coordination with the assistance of the team;
- Utilize brewery management software (BrewNinja) to complete duties;
- Generally support brewery production, planning, and operations;
- Training and mentoring of other IRBC team members in the above duties.
Should a candidate offer well-developed, comparable experience with strong references, they will be considered for a more senior role. Expectations, duties, and compensation would adjust accordingly.
The Qualified Individual:
- An appreciation for craft beer (not necessarily an appetite for it, yet)
- Experience in a comparable role in either sales, service, or manufacturing
- Proven history of proactive efforts to improve their work environment and its processes
- Able to work well within a small team and individually
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, notably Word/Docs and Excel/Sheets.
- Valid Class 05 NL Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes:
- A relentlessly positive and professional demeanour;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills;
- A drive to succeed in a small, independent business;
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks while ensuring attention to detail and cleanliness is maintained;
