Experienced painter required
Montado Painting & Decorating Limited is a local family owned business operating in Lower Hutt, Wellington. Due to the increased workload, we are looking for an experienced painter to join our team working on jobs in and around the Wellington Region.
Painter duties include:
● Preparing, filling and sanding walls and cleaning job sites, applying tapes and
drop sheets to prepare site prior to paint application
● Selecting paint and adjusting to the required consistency using pigments, oils and
thinners to suit the job site specifications
● Using a range of trade tools in the mixing and application of paints including
spray guns, brushes, rollers and other hand and power tools to create textures
and finishes
● Cleaning tools and equipment after application and correct storage of equipment
after use.
● Cleaning job site after paint application
As the successful candidate, you will have:
● A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the trade
● Be physically healthy and able to stand on feet for the duration of shift 8+ hours
per day and able to lift 20kg
● Quality workmanship
● Strong attention to detail
● Developed listening and communication skills
● Great time management and organisation skills
● Clean police record - we work in a range of commercial and residential properties
Hours and pay:
The position is full time with a guaranteed 30 hours a week minimum although usual hours will be between 40-50 hours Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
We require someone with a flexible approach who is able to work longer hours and weekends if required and must have a can do attitude to finish the job to our standard and tight deadlines.
Starting pay rate is $30 per hour depending on experience.
