Appointment will be made on the Domestic Scale (€30,541-€36,619) pro rata at a point in line with Government pay policy.
Hours of work:
19.5 hours per week

Position Summary:
General Theatre Household Operative, duties include cleaning of theatres, stocking of rooms and other duties as required by theatre supervisor
Responsibilities:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Pantry Duties
Make out list of provisions required (to allocated limit), and collect same from Catering Department- Set tables appropriately in dining area and clean same after use
- Tidy pantry and Conservatory
- Place crockery in dishwasher
2. Stocking Duties
- Restock all materials within the department, this includes unpacking and storing materials that arrive from stores
- Ensure rotation of all stock to prevent expiry. Ordering general stores. Assisting in maintaining adequate stock levels at all times
- Organising items for individual procedures
- Stocking of Anaesthetic Rooms; Prep Rooms; Scrub Rooms and Sluice Rooms
- Any additional stocking duties requested by Household Supervisor / Theatre Superintendent
3. Cleaning Duties
Clean trolleys in recovery and reception area- Cleaning of operation tables
- Clean and tidy all shelves, presses and storage boxes within the department
- Clean and wash all equipment, monitors, cables, table tops, furniture and floors
- Keeping equipment clean from blood splashes in the operating room Clean all lead protected items
- Defrost and clean fridges (Blood fridge, Transplant fridge)
- Keeping the department clean and tidy
4. Waste management duties
- Correctly dispose of all waste within the department, including refuse sacks, Health Care Risk Waste, Health Care Non-Risk Waste, change and replace yellow bins when required, in accordance with hospital policy and best practice
5. Laundry duties
- Stock clean linen in all areas, remove used/soiled linen and label where appropriate. Ensure adequate stock of linen at hand
- Ensure no inappropriate items are stored in the linen cupboards
- Preparation of the environment for the patient, i.e. stripping of the table tops
- To perform such other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned from time to time by the Directorate Business Manager or such officer designated by the Beaumont Hospital Board
