The Team
NKP was founded by CEO Andreas von Buchwald coming from a background in private equity with Axcel, while Emil Ohlsen joined five years ago as an analyst and was promoted to Head of M&A Intelligence in August 2020. The team is dynamic, young, and international and is driven by a strong entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, and high expectations from our top-tier customers.
The Opportunity
As NKP/M&A Insights continues its rapid international growth we are looking for a part-time native Scandinavian-speaking M&A analyst that will play a key role in our high-performing team.
The tasks for the M&A Analyst include:
- Report on M&A activity across the Nordic region through publication of our daily Nordic M&A Newsletter
- Track and structure data on specific private equity firms, family-owned firms, family offices, and related areas
- Generate ideas for new investment cases that can be presented across the Nordics including target firm, valuation, multiples analysis, buyer mapping
- Build rapport with and interview investment bankers and other M&A advisory professionals to gain further insights into new and existing cases
- Research up-and-coming growth firms in the Nordics and contact their owners/founders and interview them, ultimately resulting in interesting case studies and investment pitches (that you build) we can bring in our newsletter
- As we are still in many ways a startup, the day-to-day activities are never fully predictable and there is always a range of tasks to be picked up.
The Analyst position is a great way to come into consideration for a future full-time position with NKP/M&A Insights - we are growing (very) fast and new areas of responsibility emerge on a weekly basis creating many opportunities. The analyst role also provides a strong background for future positions within investment banking, consulting, or private equity.
The candidate
The abilities we are looking for in our candidates are:
- Written professional fluency in English
- Fluency in either Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, or Finnish
- Experience working with data in Excel or Google Sheets is an advantage
- Experience with financial statement analysis is an advantage but not a requirement
- Attention to detail and an acute sense of ownership
- Well-structured approach to work and an ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability and willingness to take on responsibility from day one
- Excited about finding and researching interesting companies and about the M&A/Private Equity/VC environment in general.
- Preferably you have a minimum of one year left on your BSc or MSc degree.
Practicalities
The role is part-time and we aim for a 15-hour work week with some flexibility during peak and slow periods.
